Tell Me the Old, Old Story

How good it was to see the little church in all its twinkling glory, filled to capacity on Christmas Eve, in a combined service with Bothwell United, the Reverend Annalee led us in worship that took us again to the manger in Bethlehem. The Advent and Christ candles were lighted--and all was in readiness. Readers and costumed actors from both churches participated. Old Testament prophet, Isaiah (Terry Smith), the angel (Patty Burgess), shepherds ( Evie and Macy Snelgrove), and May and Joseph (Jamie and Wesley Jackson) all helped to set the scene, along with beautiful hymns and carols. Organist Sharon Stevens, ever faithful in the ministry of music, conducted the joint choir.

In the darkened sanctuary, everyone held a lighted candle for the singing of Silent Night.

Following the service, there was a wonderful time of visiting with neighbours and friends, including many alumni of the Wabash Sunday School who are grown up and now live at a distance but are always welcomed home.
